Træningstip #01
Hi CPH LAX,
Hope the excitement level is still high and I look forward to coming
down again in September before heading to Sweden to win the tourney.
If at all possible I would like to suit up as well and play a little!
Regarding the wall. It really is your best friend. It allows you
to develop at your own pace and what it provides is Repetition,
Repetition, Repetition. I understand how frustrating this game can be early
on. I went through the same thing. But after spending months against
a wall - your stick becomes second nature and then you can begin
to start learning and playing this game. Understandably, at the
level you are now your mind is occupied with simply catching, throwing
and picking up the damn ball. After a while you dont think about
it, and that is when the "beauty" of this sport is realized.
I reiterate, use a wall. Preferably brick or some hard concrete
surface with a hard surface under it. You dont wa nt to play it
directly off the wall - albeit you can but it is damn difficult.
Better is playing (catching) the ball off the one-hop. That is after
throwing the ball off the wall - the ball rebounds off the hard
surface one time before you catch and repeat the steps. This allows
for proper of game-like distance of throws. I used to stand there
and simply count to 100 on each hand two or three times per day
(i was a kid - had a lot of time on my hands). Anyway, after a while
you will begin to pick out spots on the wall that you can hit. It
makes a tremendous difference. But all it really boils down to is
Repetition.
